Cal Arts sculpture

Since we’re heading into the Democratic convention next week I thought I’d do a quick, non-political post of a sculpture I created during my last year in the character animation program at CalArts. We were encouraged not just to draw on paper, but to create sculptures so the characters we developed for our animated shorts would be solidly designed and work in 3d.

Unfortunately I lost the photographs of the clay version of Sylvia, my main character for my 3rd year animated short. This is the Pink Lady, a 24” tall creation I did just for fun. I left it behind at CalArts; it’s probably in a dusty corner somewhere in a long-forgotten storage room.
