This is how Russians have been doing business for centuries. TRump has been taught their ways very well.

I think Karoline Leavitt got it exactly backwards when she said it was a privilege for a reporter to cover the Trump administration. On the contrary, it is a responsibility for this or any administration to make itself available to tough questions from the press and to include all reputable news organizations.

Literally *everything* out of her mouth is either a lie, a distortion or an attack. Look at her response to the Yemen attack clusterf*ck. What a soulless creature.

She did the same thing on our Channel 4 (UK) when the presenter asked her some tough questions. She just stood there in her red dress barking inanities.

I'd Like to make some frivolous crack, but I can't. I confess I am scared witless. "Where the press is free, and every man able to read, all is safe." ---Thomas Jefferson

I am certain, Ann, that unless our spineless Congress takes back its Constitutional role and stops this mania, I see nothing at the end of the tunnel but absolute dictatorship.

I tell them I'm not sending $$ until I see them on the media or read statements they've given to the press, im.not going to donate. I'm not rich but I do support.the folks who are.active and speaking out

Neither of my senators are picking up their phone and block faxes, but I try to leave them a lovely message every day about why they should care about current events being bad. If their voicemail is full, they usually have contact forms on their website. 5calls.org the website and the app is super helpful for finding out the current state of the many, MANY issues, the numbers of the relevant representatives, and even scripts to help out if you're nervous, like me!

Thank you, Ann,

... for your extended treatment of Trump's love affair with the press. Once again, as we've come to expect, you tell it as it is.

Even so, perhaps we should all remind ourselves that the 'mainstream media' are all owned by greedy oligarchs who, not only know which way the wind is blowing, they produce the wind itself. (There's probably a joke in there somewhere about a windbag.)

Ever since Big T glided down the golden escalator, all the major newspapers, in their articles, repeated his name many times more Hilary's. (I highlighted them and counted them.) They gave him more than double the 'free publicity' (as opposed to paid political ads) as they gave Hilary. And, nothing has changed in that regard even until today. After all, "If it bleeds, it ledes." And "If it ledes it sell$."

Trump's insults to the 'fake news' are nothing but his way of encouraging his base to listen to only his own propaganda, only his message, and to reject anything they don't like about the him as 'fake news.'

I would never pretend that Trump himself has ever known anything; he hasn't.

But surely someone out there knows that without having the mainstream media constantly bleeting about him at the center of their 'big stories' (for free, too!) , he would still be shilling Trump Water, Trump Steaks, and Trump University on late night cable channels.

Never give up,

Never give out,

Never give in!

I'm surely not the only one shocked by the individuals and organizations afraid of this not very bright schmuck from Queens. We need all the voices, but especially the big voices to stand up now. Looking at you NYT. None of us want to look back and wish we hadn't been appeasers.

On target. So what? Reporting news that doesn't alter anything about the news is like yelling the truth into the Void. How do we get the truth to have meaning in the lives of those who are not impacted by the truth? Nothing changes. Why doesn't the truth mean anything? The same thing applies to Gaza. To all of Palestine. To Ukraine. The evil of Donald Trump and his world is that it is unmoved by truth. Immune to truth. Does not care about the values at the heart of value. Trump represents the transvaluation of value, making worthless what is priceless. The opposite of the Midas Touch. No?

Thank you Ann. As I sort through all of this data sometimes I feel Ike I’ve fallen into that old Rod Serling television show, The Twilight Zone. Maybe I’m just dreaming that my fellow Americans chose such an amoral monster to lead us.

Then I remember what our parent effectiveness trainers would say to us when my children were in elementary school, “it takes 2 to make a relationship “.

It’s very clear to me he wasn’t born yesterday. That every time someone walked away and said, ‘he’s someone else’s problem’ this is what we’ve got. Now he’s everyone’s problem.
