Looking back reluctantly
During the last few weeks, The Washington Post and The New York Times have published in depth articles looking back at the early days of the worldwide coronavirus emergency and how we are still processing the changes the pandemic brought to our lives. Both are interesting reads and have some really stunning photographs.
Which led me to go back into my own archives to see what I was drawing for the Post before anyone realized we were in a pandemic (and before I started work on the mural). Here’s a short graphic essay about working from home I created in March of 2020. Notice the lighthearted tone and characterization of the upcoming pandemic as a “coronavirus threat”. To know then what I know now.
