Those 6 black-robed harbingers of authoritarianism are all on board to halt voting because they know an honest election would rain impeachments. (Although I'd be fine with siccing ICE on them as they have done to us.)
Swan — I agree with your hopes but your aim to get the previously inactive 1/3 of the electorate to vote requires that WE activate them — we have to attract candidates that they recognize as being for them and willing to do things for them. Like what?

As a South Carolina resident I see this as fighting the uphill battle to oust Lindsey Graham from the Senate and electing progressive candidates to the House of Representatives.
Yes, take to the streets this Saturday…. But also work to elect candidates dedicated to ending the Trumphukian insanity.
Funny thing is, the 6 things you listed Dem candidates should be for, do not require the candidate to be good, articulate, or strong - just being conscious (or at least sentient), alive, and breathing!
ICE is Trump's private police. He already has the army and national guard to do his bidding. Democrats need to continue to hold the line and not give in on funding. There has got to be a better more accurate acronym for ICE.
Right. Why the heck aren’t TSA agents essential workers? That makes no sense at all. Particularly when we are at war with Iran. Have they always been nonessential? I mean 9/11 is why DHS was created in the first place.
Ah. I see. ICE agents are being paid because they had additional funding from that two-bit legislation last summer. This is such nasty business. It’s pouring salt on a wound for TSA agents to have paid ICE agents “helping” meanwhile it’s ICE practices that are holding it up. Or actually Trump is holding it up but underlying is the protocol. It can’t be good for morale.
Make a sign and BE AT A NO KINGS EVENT this coming Saturday. VOTE whenever you get the chance against everyone and anything that supports this Administration. YOU, I and OTHERS are the only ones who can STOP this.

True — but I believe to be elected these candidates need strength, and need to be able to speak to the people and their needs.
We have them in our streets, schools, homes, airports and soon our sacred voting places. We have been invaded by our own government.

I think that they already are essential workers- that is why they are required to work, even without pay.

I see now. I misunderstood the discrepancy between ICE being paid and TSA not.
That’s OK. Nothing much makes sense.
ICE is only acting as Security — they are not well trained enough to be TSA replacements.
