Love your graphic essay. Your points are timeless and therefore as relevant today as they were after the Hebdo massacre. Be brave, people! The minute we stop voicing opinion, is the minute we’ve lost what is vital to freedom. It’s up to us to protect the legacy of freedom and choice that people died for, for the next generation.

Actions speak much more loudly than words.

Violent actions as a response to mere words or images tell everyone who and what you are.

Absolutely incredible since these threats come so close to the Charlie Hebo anniversary. Of course as the MAGAs will tell us those horrific folks shooting up Charlie Hebo were, dare I say, brown!

MAGATs don’t do irony because they don’t know what it is, but there is irony here. A day after the flood, one MAGAT yahoo Texas county commissioner named Briscoe something-or-other was actually quoted saying that this horrible tragedy was not to be seen as an opportunity to grow government. And that is exactly what this cartoon is saying they believe. I guess the bottom line is they can say it, but if anyone outside of the cult says it, it’s blasphemy. These people can’t be gone soon enough.

Herb Block would be so proud of you. My father taught me to read, reading Herb Block’s cartoons. Explaining them took a little more finesse but he raised me right, actually, left. 😊💕🇺🇸.

Cartoonists mirror TRUTH. Those who kill, threaten, intimidate, bully cartoonists Get It because Cartoon Truth can be understood by anybody. And if the bullies don't like it, they should start drawing cartoons. It is a very effective way to get one's point across--without brutalizing or killing anyone. But you know that and get off on being a bully. Bullying has nothing to do with truth, and everything to do with the rush of being a bully, atrocity is such an addiction, no?

There has never been such violent rhetoric like what comes out of the mouth of our liar-in-chief. He calls anyone who disagrees with him "evil", yet the orange chameleon changes his beliefs based on the last person that has his ear. It is worrisome to think that since Hebdo more cartoonists are targeted than ever before, not less. Hard to believe what has happened since you first published this poignant editorial. Godspeed AT.

Ann, your intrepid devotion to the craft of editorial cartooning, and to freedom of the press, is at its finest when the times are darkest, igniting a spark of hope. Often mirthful with a touch of the sardonic, your art needles the nerves of people who deserve it and touches the hearts of others, inspiring a natural affinity.

A- your timing, for me is serendipitous. I live in Colorado which has a gay, democrat as its governor. I worked on both of his campaigns. Recently he allowed ICE to have access to sensitive records. The issue is being adjudicated. So that’s that. But what is my part? That is the question I have been asking myself. Today I went on the state website and sent him a message.

It is not just cartoonist who should carry the conscience of a nation. That responsibility belongs to each of us. Thank you and your compatriots for the work you do to keep us uncomfortable.

Agree that violence is unacceptable. I think violence becomes more likely when people can remain anonymous in tossing insults.
