I'm already upset at what is happening to Adriana Smith. What I am especially pissed about is that they're forcing her to basically incubate the baby - knowing DAMN well they're not going to take care of the baby, or give the baby's family any kind of resources to help them.
My book club, which is reading Timothy Snyder's On Freedom, was discussing how women are viewed as baby incubators. This is the blatant case of this, but once a baby is born there is absolutely ZERO support for the family and child. We then got to talking about the sham of a program where people are offered $5000 to have a baby, when that does not even cover delivery costs. The inhumanity of too many people who are trying to take over the world is shocking to me. The more inhumanity we are exposed to the more it will suck the humanity out of us. We need to all be really careful, and keep our exposure down. We also want to get out on NO TYRANTS DAY!
Nikki, I totally agree. I grieve for her family and they should have had the decision. It’s past Adrianna’s concerns, fortunately, but it prolongs her family’s suffering. I’ve made the point to my wife often that the state and the lawmakers don’t care about the child’s welfare at all, once it becomes a living person.
Trump demonstrated his concern for others during the COVID-19 pandemic, stating "dead people don't vote". Perhaps this situation is the converse of his statement but I don't imagine that the fetus, if it should survive, will be voting for Trump.
A fetus growing inside a dead momma, already showing signs of being born with massive disabilities. Horrendous for the family that will likely have little or no government support to care for it. Georgia et al, you have lost your souls. Thanks for putting it out there AT, no amount of shame can erase your ink.
Depraved, dystopian treatment for a woman and child. But this seems to be how the submissive, misogynistic, incels want women treated. As incubators, whether walking or comatose, to provide children who will be starved, unhoused and uneducated.
Was just discussing this case in my book club today in relation to our discussing some chapters in Timothy Snyder's, "On Freedom!" This makes this that much more relevant to me to see this. It is spot on!
I had read Jessica Valenti's piece on Adrianna Smith earlier today.
The process of going from the printed news report to the art work reflecting it is one of the things that humans lead the cosmos in being able to do. We lead the cosmos in other ways not so laudable, as the subject of the artwork demonstrates. Sadness and joy in the same piece of art.

Amen.
This is unspeakable
IMO, this is the most cutting cartoon since the one that got you fired from Bezos' toy newspaper. Wonderful work.
Agreed. It is ferociously breathtaking.
She wasn't fired -- she RESIGNED.
They are all about freedom. Except for women. And minorities.
and immigrants except white south Afrikaans and Slovenians.
Freedom for themselves to act like bullies and thugs (Jan. 6); oppression for everyone else.
Absolutely disgusting, what a bunch of monsters! You captured their depravity perfectly.

The baby must be a boy . . .
Doesn't get more heart wrenching or more cruel.

So disrespectful of the woman and family. Women of child bearing age stay out of Florida!
This is in Georgia, but I imagine the same thing would happen in Florida.
Thank you for correcting me🙏
You have to be old (like me) to appreciate this "Senator Bill Frist" moment.
I don't recognize this country anymore...how is it possible to be so cruel?
Can't say I like"like" the truth expressed, but it's expressed very well.
FB doen't give you a real choice also.....
Ah, yes; the law of fully intended and cruel consequences in pursuit of preserving the dignity of all life. Right? Amirite?

Excellent! Thanks for sharing.
Pretty cool your book club is reading "On Freedom!"

Even more heinous than Atwood could have written.
