I can’t help thinking about any foreign tourist who has to surrender their mobil phone for inspection by Customs Border Patrol before entering our country. And now Homeland Security is scouring foreign VISA holder’s social media for anything that might be “antisemitism” so they can be deported.

Great speech. And you are right about the threat against freedom to speak our minds. Yes, it's frightening. While you were at the Post, before I read anything else, I looked for your cartoon. You always nailed it. What do they say about a picture...? So true. Thanks Ann

Thank you for being a brilliant point of light in the looming darkness. Like the night sky far from the "civilized" cities and towns, you inspire awe. Keep on shining. Rich S, Octogenarian and Contrarian who grew up in the wilds under the western sky.

That was an amazing, well written, and thought provoking speech, which really brought to the surface, the very real danger we face of losing freedom of speech, here and around the world.

Your exodus from WaPo was bold and courageous, giving voice and power to other, likeminded people, who have since followed your lead.

I applaud you, Ann, and your fellow cartoonists, world wide, who continue to shine a bright light on the threats to our democracy, press freedom, and "justice for all." 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Ann Telnaes…Nowadays, I continue to track you wherever you go, even when you were at the Washington Post…I hope you will get recognition from the President, excluding diaper donnie, to put the Presidential Medal of Freedom around your collar someday…

Your friend, a Deaf Federal Retired from the Library of Congress in 2018...

By attacking so many aspects of our life & livelihood, trump is doing far more to unify the country than if he was a thinking, caring president.

Witness the Universities banding together over Harvard.

The lawyers uniting against what is truly "lawfare".

The thousands of people protesting all over the country, in thousands of locations, even red states.

The attendance at democratic rallies, like the anti-Oligarchy Tour of AOC & Bernie.

The republicans who won't hold town hall meetings, but people hold their own, anyways, or attend democratic town halls.

Judges banding together.

Whistleblower at NLRB.

There are so, so many of us!

Congratulations Ann from another former WaPo subscriber. Admire the content of your work as well as the artistry. Not sure how you mange to make his hands tinier or his face more plethoric, but keep at it.

Thanks AT. Now more than we ever imagined, this country needs voices like yours to be amplified to give us strength to resist the onslaught of attacks on free speech by the authoritarian toddler and his little billionaires!
