It always amazes me how you are able to say more with three pictures than most people do with thousands of words. Another bullseye! Thank you.

"Weenies", of course that's what they are, Kathryn. Thank you. I have been trying to figure out how sausages fit in. Can you tell I'm not American born?? (But I am legal.)

Trump will let you know whether you’re legal or not! Trump, and his crack team on immigration law, that is! Wait, wait … or was that “Trump, and his immigration law team on crack”? I get that mixed up …

“Laws, like sausages, cease to inspire respect in proportion as we know how they are made.”

Attributed to Geoffrey Saxe.

Could that be the inspiration behind the third panel?

As a German citizen, I must complain about the insult to SAUSAGES everywhere! :-)

In the USA we usually differentiate between “weenies” and sausages. We know they are highly related, but weenies are usually quite bland. We expect sausages to have more flavor and character.

Fair point...are you suggesting that the Republicans in Congress are weenies? That's still giving them too much credit, as weenies still have some use.

Phil Kuhn's avatar

I accept your criticism, but I believe it was Ms. Telnaes who suggested they were weenies. And I don’t think she

restricted herself to Republicans, even though it is their majority in the House that sways the House as a whole.

Nice cartoon as usual. The GOP congress is cowed and fearful. There seem to be no heros or heroines, like Liz Cheney. They have sacrificed their country.

Liz Cheney took all the balls and spines with her when she left DC!

Liz Cheney was one of the Trump acolytes until she fell out of favor. She voted for him twice and did nothing to curb his worst impulses. She finally saw the light, but she is still a Nixon/Reagan/Bush Republican.

I expect that there are few issues she and I would agree on- however, I respect her courage in standing up to not only trump but her colleagues and other Rs. History will treat her well. IMHO.

The GOP congress is full of cowardly, spineless individuals who relish being in power (so far) and greedy. One has to have courage, stamina, maturity, and balls to forge ahead (among other things) in areas that may not be popular. Liz Cheney has balls.

You must not be able to see the Heros! Check out BERNIE SANDERS, AOC, MAZIE HIRONO, ELIZABETH WARREN, TINA SMITH, TAMMY DUCKWORTH, AND CHRIS MURPHY. You are probably hoping KELLY, KLOBUCHAR, KAINE AND BOOKER will become a hero. They won't. They are MAGA Democrats.
